As most people on this forum I deal most regularly with .ca's and the transfer process is simple and almost instantaneous.

I am reminded of this every time I am on the receiving end of a .com. I don't notice it so much when I sell a .com but receiving one is a painful process. You supply the transfer code to you registrar and you get an email that the process can take as long as 7 days. Really? with all the .com's changing hands in the world they still have not been able to come up with a system similar to what CIRA has with .ca

HaHa, good thing I'm doing more selling than buying with .com's nowadays because the process just sucks. Most of my com's are from catalog purchases so I kinda forgot how archaic this process was.

PS. Did everyone know you can do this at WHC now?

So the transfer from Porkbun to WHC is on it's 7th day and says to be on or before today depending on how fast the losing registrar releases the domain.

Seems like Porkbun is waiting until the last minute of the 7th day to release the domain.

Lets put together a list on how long other LOSING registrars take to complete.
I remember I had a .com transfer within a couple of hours once but I cannot remember the registrar.

What is reasonable? 24-48 hours

7 days is just stupid, I'm glad I deal mostly in .ca's and CIRA has really done the transfer part right. (y)
