for some weird reason, abnormally high numbers of free range chickens and paradise do seem to frequently coincide.

Whoa, someone said that 2s.ca was 'doing well' at auction, but that was quite an understatement - it's already at $1250 and rising... what the heck?

This CC was the best domain of the week, but it didn't rate that high overall, and nothing about it screams 4-figures at auction. Two companies/brokers fighting over it?

That price is already significantly higher than premium (and uber-premium) LLLs have sold for lately, and those are all eminently more saleable than a weird NL domain with limited usage.

Only domains with multiple bids go to auction - you can still win domains there outright at $18 TBR pricing if you are the only bidder

Only those with multiple bids get sent out to the auction platform. Others get registered to the ones who requested them. Another cunning model to push domains to the auction platform.

For reference, I think this is very close to what the last LL.ca sold for at auction, and some X/Y/Z junk LLs sold for less.

The price escalated quickly on account of Proxy Bidding:

Bidder 3 put in a $500 Proxy
Bidder 2 just kept clicking 'til they took over and then put in an $800 Proxy Bid
Bidder 1 click away in rapid succession and them put in a $1200 Proxy Bid

3 healthy Proxies later -we're at $1250 with Bidder 2 in the lead

The oddity is that it all happened in a 45 minute period yesterday
