I move my .com's around to a number of marketplaces to test drive them to see how they work.

Time to give Spaceship a proper run so I changed nameservers on some .com's to see how the reg path from Namecheap works and since I keep detailed Umami webstats for all domains I will be able to tell in a few days if spaceship/namecheap brings me any extra traffic.

So showing up as for sale at namecheap is not instantaneous, I will check back and let you know how long it takes to show up there.

5% commission on my .com's is reasonable, so I will try out a few.

My other reviews...

SAW.com - love them to death, the 9% is a tad high but it's feature rich and they have a new marketplace

DomainEasy.com - Nicest landers but appears as an abondoned project to me. Commission is ZERO for now.

AfterNic/Godaddy - I cannot get over the commission structure as high as 30% in some cases.

Atom.com - It just gives me a headache, approvals, overly complex, endless settings, get me outta there please.

OK so here is the deal...

Change your nameservers and point them to spaceship, in about 2 hours you will get on the regpath with spaceship and Namecheap.

Then you can change nameservers back to anything you want (including your own lander) and remain on the Namecheap/spaceship reg path.

This is completely opposite to saw.com where you get removed from market the moment you change nameservers.

You can read about that here: SAW.com launches an actual Marketplace, but...

I have to admit the saw.com interface is slicker and easier, still my absolute fave but getting on the Namecheap/spaceship regpath is sooooo sweet.

I eventually switch back to my landers so staying registered at spaceship is the sweet spot and a bummer at saw.

They had sync issue between spaceship and namecheap yesterday, support said it's resolved now.

No need to search with domain.tld at Spaceship: Seller Hub listed domains show up at the top for .com and .ca.
At NameCheap: Only .com domains show up when searching for sld.

No Name Server requirement and 5% commission is a great for us.

Their next release is going to be LTO.

Anyone else notice they own both spaceship.com and spaceship.net?

You can add an identifying marker if you want

I had 3 offers this morning when I woke up and one looked promising so I responded directing the client to inquiry.mapledots.ca which collects much more info on the potential buyer. So it is possible to take the sale off platform if you want to collect more data before accepting.

Actual domain prices at spaceship in Canadian dollars.

Remember most credit cards will add an additional 2.5% conversion fee but I get around that by having a Wealth Simple account which charges no conversion fee. It's a pre paid account which means it operates like a credit card but the funds leave your account right away. It's great if you don't want to pay 2.5% conversion.

You also get 2% cash back every month basically taking the prices down a tad more.

The End of Banking? Wealthsimple is betting on it.

Been following this, I can't use spaceship without alphabetical sorting, it'd be a nightmare with a larger catalog.
