sawsells.com/domain/20twenty.ca
A while back I posted a thorough review about SAW's marketplace: In Depth Review of SAW.com (SAWSELLS.com)
It's no secret that I try out most all the marketplaces but in the end I keep coming back to saw.com and the majority of my domains now point there.
From my experiences I will now outline why I think SAW is and remains the top choice of an experienced domainer like myself.
First of all, its made by some of the same people that made Uniregistry and we all know that marketplace was built from the ground up to be domainer friendly. The interface from SAW is no exception, it is the most thorough and probably one of the easiest interfaces to use. It is also the only marketplace that shares all the client information without hiding key details. SAW understands sometimes domainers want to get deeper involved in a transaction and sometimes we need the help of expert domain brokers. At SAW I can send the negotiation to broker with a single click knowing they have closed some of the biggest deals in the industry.
I can pick from numerous modern templates and I mostly prefer the default one and the one above affectionately referred to as "Richie"
Why do I like the Richie template?
It has pleasing colours and put the buy now, lease to own, and offer on a single line and it also shows the appraisal price if I price it 10% lower.
The 10% lower indicates to the perspective buyer that they are getting a bargain therefore creating a sense of urgency with the purchase.
I also like that I can add my own tagline like " Domain Name Properties by MapleDots "
The SAW landers are probably on of the most customizable landers and if you fool around with the settings a bit you can find your own distinct identity to set yourself apart from other marketplaces. The lander pictured above is growing on me more every time I use it because it says everything I need it to on one screen.

Why not Afternic?
Actually I list a lot of my domains at GoDaddy/Afternic as well but I price them higher there because of the commission difference. I prefer not to use afternic for leads because sending it directly to a broker makes me uneasy knowing they cannot be as efficient in communicating with a new inquiry as I can. I prefer to make first contact knowing if I need help I can send the negotiation to a broker. That is the plus I have at SAW and why I feel more comfortable there.
Why not the new Spaceship?
I have to say I was very tempted with Spaceship and am still experimenting with them on some landers but there are some gaping omissions showing it to be a beginners platform instead of one that experience domainers will use.
1. The is no custom URL if you, re not pointing the nameservers. At saw I get a custom address like sawsells.com/domain/20twenty.ca if I am not pointing nameservers to 20Twenty.ca and this is not possible at spaceship.
2. At SAW I get a custom checkput link like market.saw.com/buy/20twenty.ca that I can publish anywhere for one click BUY NOW access.
3. At SAW the statistics are more detailed and live updated and at spaceship they update daily at midnight. Also SAW filters out BOTS making sure you get real stats on how many eyeballs are actually on your lander.
4. At spaceship the client has to make an account to make an offer which can cause an extra barrier that could interfere with a sale.
5. SAWS AI engages the client in chat so the client gets familiar with the chat layout and all the client has to do is follow the email link to get back to the chat without logging in.
6. Spaceship requires email verification for every offer and SAW allows you to customize that on a per domain basis. So if you have a domain where you get numerous spam offers you can turn on verification for it without affecting your other domains.
Why not the Atom?
Atom is a great choice for some people but I find it overly complex with Atom wanting to do too much and making the contact screen too cluttered possibly confusing the end user. I do like that Atom has a marketplace storefront where a domainer can showcase all their domains but SAW is releasing something similar soon and I much prefer the more straight forward interface without having to get approval to submit or someone telling me what I should be selling for. I understand there are ways around that now too but it still goes to show the listing process is overly complex and not something I am willing to do on a larger catalog.
What about Sedo?
Sedo is another great choice but there are too many unverified domains there. One makes an offer and you don't know if the domain is actually available. They charge your credit card and if one deals in a different currency there is a 2.5% credit card conversion fee I have to pay. Then I am told the domain is not available and they refund but the 2.5% fee is not refunded and the credit card company charges another 2.5% on the credit making a total loss of 5% on an offer that should never have happened.
What about Parking and Bodis?
Bodis is the best at parking and a great choice for landers as well if you want a simple form taking basic information. However the web stats Bodis offers are excellent as well and Bodis landers can have dual purpose as landers and parking offering the domain owner lots of choice. That said though, the parking aspect of things could possibly confuse an prospective end user if they confuse a parking page as the domain being not available.
There are a number of other marketplaces listed here: dn.ca/tools/#market-sites
Each of the marketplaces in the above link have their own benefits and there is no right or wrong, it comes down to each domainers personal preferences which is why I listed some of mine here.
The last point to make is that godaddy, spaceship, dynadot, and similar marketplaces also offer additional services and they sometimes confuse the sales process by listing web hosting, email hosting, etc in the shopping basket when the client makes the offer and that can be detrimental on a sale with a budget conscious client. I much prefer a clean checkout focusing on the task at hand, which is focusing on my sale and not additional services.
So good luck to everyone, I hope you find the lander and service that clicks for you, there is no right or wrong, however the people at saw do one thing only and that is selling domains. Ask yourself if the service you are considering does the same and do they not water things down with other services and internal policies that could possibly interfere with your sale.
SAW support is one email away and since they don't have to answer web hosting and domain registration questions the support staff is actually available when you need them.
