Have you been in one of those privatized DriveTest centers lately? I took my youngest there this year and they are a total joke.

One the left-right light test, several people got this totally wrong, but the girl at the desk kept running it over and over and over until they finally passed. They asked them several questions like "Did you have a drivers license in your country?" to which they answered "Yes" but that all their records had been lost. The girl said no problem and that she would mark them as licensed. Literally anything they said, with absolutely no records or other backup, was taken as gospel by the DriveTest reps.

Then these same people went into the written test and immediately fired up their phones and while pointing at questions on the screen, they started talking to someone on the other line, and obviously cheating like rats. The lady CSR kept telling them (in French and English) that no phones were allowed, but these people just waved at her and kept on cheating and after a few tries she just ignored them and went back to work. In another area there were some hard-cases who apparently had absolutely no clue and one of the DriveTest reps was filling out the answers for them - no joke.

Right after that an older white French guy walked in with an existing license and needed to make address adjustments to it and apply for reinstatement of his large truck license (Class 3 I think). He had all the paperwork, but the lady gave his a seriously hard time and he had to keep coming back over and over, and she questioned him like the FBI would a serial killer. He was getting pretty irritated, especially as all the "new Canadians" were passing with ease, while getting most questions wrong and apparently couldn't connect their right/left eye to their right/left hand. I'd swear that half of them were legally blind.

And you wonder why driving in Canada has gotten so much worse lately - it's obvious the Canadian stakeholders (large companies/corporations) need these newcomers to get licenses as fast and as easily as possible to start buying cars and spending money - that's the only reason the government brought them here - more warm bodies with wallets to feed Bell, Rogers, Galen and the Big Banks. If you're already a Canadian with a license, then you're in a lower class, and get the whip not the carrot, like everyone did back in the day when getting a drivers license was a serious thing.

If you're a newcomer to Canada you get a free pass in a lot of areas, just like in our two-tiered justice system, where non-citizens rarely get convicted of anything, as it would "harm their ability to become Canadian citizens" - isn't that kind of the point? Just recently a non-citizen got caught in a pedophile sting, but was exonerated by a judge because "it would harm his ability to gain employment in Canada". Huh? I hope he doesn't get hired at a childcare center with his 'spotless record'.

The PCs are introducing a bill to end this two-tiered justice system, but I expect the Liberals to fight tooth & nail to maintain the status quo and allow non-citizens to be immune to prosecution.

Part of it is the recent privatization of Ontario drivers licensing and another part is a determined effort by government to make it much easier for new Canadians to start spending money. The cost is the loss of human life, skyrocketing insurance rates, and a worktime drive that resembles a Mad Max movie, but I guess that doesn't faze the rich Liberal elites with their chauffeurs and grey poupon mustard.

The two-tiered justice system was something I already knew of, but I didn't how bad it had gotten, to the point where it's incredibly difficult to charge a non-citizen with any crime, as the judges feel that it "make it more difficult for them to achieve Canadian citizenship" and have the legal backing to do so.

And you guys in BC have your own problems, as the NDP have passed a law to effectively give all the land back to First Nations, which created a Supreme Court decision that homeowners, business and even the government effectively have no land rights in Richmond and FN claims supersede them. All those people and businesses and government workers better get ready to move out.

It's not like anyone with a brain could have predicted this type of mess was inevitable. Virtually every week I come to a stop sign and some carful of Indians tries to wave me through the intersection. I make a quick stop-start and they gas it trying to ram me... then they stop and try and wave me through again. I don't remember Canadians ever giving the Liberals the right to turn our cities in little Mumbai's.

I also see cars driving around that are only half there, missing doors, missing trunks and hoods, missing bumpers, no lights, and recently I even saw one that was entirely held together by clear packing tape (I think the car had previously exploded into pieces) and let me tell you, there was a 2-3 car gap between this winner and everyone else on the road. This is a scene you might find in Mogadishu or Port-au-Prince.

I've read stories like this from all across Canada, with people driving cars with missing doors or windows, and with pieces attached with duct tape, etc. There are no traffic cops anymore (they're all at the local mall rustlin' hobos), so no one enforces anything on the roads, and this is what we get. Each day I see Canada slowly descending into a 3rd world country.

Worst of all, no one trusts anyone anymore, and Canada's entire society is built on trust. Due to our incredibly-lax laws and 'catch and release' bail program where virtually no perp ever goes to jail, Canada is now known worldwide as a scammer country - whenever the US does a big bust, you can bet their leadership lived in a large city in Canada. And why not, we coddle criminals and worry incessantly over their 'rights' while kicking victims of crime to the curb. I know if I was a violent offender looking to steal, scam, maim, rape, and kill people, I'd certainly move to Canada. And they do, they really do.

To spread the irony on thick, I recently read two articles from the Globe; one covered the "sentencing discount" that First Nations offenders get for serious crimes (like murder and rape) and how it was needed for 'reconciliation', while the second covered how activists are angry that female Indigenous victims of murder, rape and other violent crimes are seeing their attackers get lighter sentences. And neither article hit on the obvious connection between the two.

The above paragraph sums up Canada's current legal system pretty well.

As bad as some things are in some places it's not bad enough yet for most people to change their vote.

If the Liberals feel threatened by a change in voter sentiment, they will act, as in the last election when they cancelled the consumer carbon tax and a capital gains tax change they were planning. Recently they also rescinded their EV mandates. I'm just surprised more people aren't fed up with the rise of problems noted in this thread. It's too bad that's what it takes and the politicians can't see the problems themselves.

I know the gov't workers are not happy with the Liberals, as Carney outright lied about how he was going to handle job cuts (only through turnover and attrition then he started firing everyone) so I would bet the vote there would be considerably different this time around.

Federal employees all complaining that Carney lied to them to get their votes, but that's all the Liberals do, lie, lie and then lie again. Do people still not understand this? How do you know Carney is lying? His mouth is moving.

Quebec is also not very happy with a LOT of what the Liberals are doing, so the Bloc will also get more seats, and at some point it's all going to boil over and the PCs will form a minority gov't with the Bloc. Might be a few years down the line or it might be 5-10 years, but the tainted seeds that Trudeau planted will all sprout up like weeds, and eventually lead to ruin and upheaval in this country.

There is no escaping it.

Nice strawman, but while every politician lies to some extent, no one lies like the Liberals. Lying is like breathing to them since Trudeau came along, and virtually every significant campaign promise is either deleted, forgotten or diluted past the point of recognizability. The Libs also feel they are above the ethical responsibilities of public office and we "little people" need to just shut up and take it.

Look at Trudeau, more ethics violations (and they are only the ones he got called on) of any Prime Minister in the history of Canada. Or Carney openly bribing PCs and NDP to jump ship to the Liberal party so he can hold Canada in his little Irish fist. Sure, other politicians have been guilty of offenses, but never this blatantly, or to this extent. The current Liberal party literally had no ethics.

I'll say it again, all politicians are corrupt to some level, but PCs are Nationalist while Liberals are Globalist.

One answers to Canadian interests, while the other answers to Global interests. The PCs get hit with far fewer infractions and are more centered on expenses and cronyism to other rich Canadians (Airbus). The Liberals get involved with all kinds of extremely lucrative scams, like SNC-Lavelin, ArrivCan, We Charity, etc., as well as dipping their fingers into foreign immigration, workers and students.

That's also why we got all those carbon taxes and limits on CO2, etc. under Trudeau; anyone with a brain knows that Canada's 'climate change initiatives' have the overall effect of a guy pissing into the ocean (less in fact), but all this BS got Trudeau awards and citations from various "Global Climate Organizations" and he got to be congratulated and wined & dined at various climate conferences and summits.

So essentially, we paid hundreds of billions in various carbon taxes, just so Trudeau could receive global adulation and awards. That's how the Liberals think - how can I look good to the world and how can I make the world love (and pay) me. If you like that mindset, then you're free to vote Liberal, but I'm not sure many rational Canadians really understand what Trudeau and the current Liberal party stood/stands for.

Trudeau: Canada may be broken, but damn this swanky dinner and winning the 'Global Energy and Environment Leadership Award' sure was awesome. I think I'll increase carbon taxes and bad-mouth Alberta some more.
