I sold one for $250 a few years back

I wish they would create a marketplace for handles on X, and easily let people buy and sell the ones they have, and take a reasonable cut for themselves. Instead of making it a forbidden black market kind of thing, which it is now.

I used to have @Toronto and a few other gems that I was able to sell over the years. I remember around 2007 or 2008 hearing about Twitter in the first year, and registering a handful of good ones. Must have been the domainer in me realizing that handles were unique and could become valuable if the site got popular. I should have taken more but thought I might get flagged or something. At that time there would have been so many good one words still available.

Another guy named Heshie was holding on to his first name account and X helped Heshie Brody get it.

Just saw another tweet from a guy complaining that someone is squatting on his first-name account, even though it’s actually used by someone with the same name.


If you got a good user handle, keep it active.

Yup I went through the process to get MapleDots and am happy to have it secured. I used to run under MapleDots As the handle and name but I use my real name with the handle now because it adds credibility you will notice most prominent domainers have a handle Flash real nane.
