Gambling is an epidemic, especially among the younger generation. It's estimated that the majority of NA male teenagers bet on sports regularly, and interviews with teens about this growing problem suggest the participation in all forms of gambling is much higher than we think. Statements like "everyone I know is gambling on something".

So yeah, it's big business - the total amount bet worldwide on the Super Bowl is enough ($20 billion or so) to buy a few NFL franchises. Gee... and I wonder if they're paying off players and officials to hit the right line.
