It is not easy to make decent income in the domaining game. (12.Viewing)

I don’t know how else to put it.
It is not easy for the average participant to make decent income, leave alone make a living in this industry

Now registrars, and other stakeholders holders will want you to succeed, which is a great thing in way. Your success is their success

But only if wishes were horses

I have seen this even among those who have been in the industry for decades

It is hard to get this business if you don’t get it in 1 year

I know a lot of successful people and one thing common between them is that they all got it in a short time

But for the vast majority, it is just a matter of shooting in the dark, get Lucky in a trend and then back to square one

No amount of podcast or course will help you

There just are too many dots to connect, too many subjective criteria that need an innate instinct

If you think you can strictly rely on data, remember that the data is with everyone else including the experts

This is just a thought

As in every business, you should figure out your strengths and work on those

And be impatient

You don’t have all your life to figure it out

One thing is for sure
This is no get rich quick scheme

No shit Shylock.

I pick up stuff fast and I count myself as a fairly intelligent person, but it took me awhile to crack this particular nut, and the shell's not even completely off. The almost total lack of liquidity is troublesome, the costs and renewal expenses can be onerous at times, and everything just takes soooooo loooooong to get going, with an incredible amount of deadbeats and time-wasters always holding you back. I'm not a patient man, but I've had to develop some with domains.

My big gripe is that the amount of time you have to devote to domaining, in order to be successful, is in no way commensurate with the profits, especially early on. Not that you can't make money, but the sheer amount of time & effort you need to devote to it would be better served in other more lucrative areas, like joining some Reddit stock investment groups and parsing through the data for the real deals and trends. I've done both and the latter one is cake compared to domains, but I just didn't like it and it felt a lot like work... after work.

I think the only way you can make it as a domainer is if you truly, truly enjoy it, which will allow you to whip through the many hours per week you must pour into it. Otherwise, you'll avoid the hard work and just watch TV or play video games instead.

Nah, it’s easy
