This shit is also hurting domain sales as no matter if you're selling a .COM or .CA, I still get inquiries on whether it has a premium for renewal. I just got a similar one yesterday and had to assure them there are no premium renewals on this domain or TLD.

Just that little niggle of doubt can stop a potential buyer from making an offer.
