Does anybody know anyone at CIRA?
Been working with domains since 2003 and now they sent me a compliance email a while back with todays date being the deadline.
I have filled in the requested form attaching proof, I have emailed them and still no response.

That's an scary situation. You'd think they'd have the courtesy to reply and at least confirm receipt.

Did you try calling them? Likely too late in the day now. They will likely look at it tomorrow.

will try calling tomorrow. They finally got back to me. They don’t accept drivers license as proof.

You sure this is a legit request and not a clever scam? The red flag for me is the urgent deadline, if that is what you are saying the message contained. I hope it's not a scam.

They sent out request Jan 5th. I did respond about a week later but they only just got back to me today. Drivers license doesn't cut it.

What I would love to know is what brought this on

I've seen a lot of domains owned by people in other countries that clearly had no claim on a .CA

It never occurred to me to launch a complaint because the chances of getting the domain are probably slim unless you had a legitimate claim.

Anyone know what happens if a complaint is launched and CIRA rules the owner has no stays to own a .CA

How is the drop handled?

I was told if I didn’t comply within deadline , all names under that reg ID go into hold status for 30 days. If still not proven within those 30 days, names are released for registration

So unless one knew they were being released you have a silent drop where the complainant could technically silently register domain without competition.

If that gets out CIRA could have an avalanche on their hands.

I assumed just go into the next tbr after 30 days

If that is the case it could explain why some choice domains end up at TBR with unusually high bids.
(not talking about current backlink domains)
