Pierre Poilievre on the Joe Rogan Podcast (1.Viewing)

I've said this many times before, but the PCs are Nationalists and the Liberals are Globalists.

Voters need to decide if they are Canadian citizens or Global citizens - there is no right or wrong, as freedom allows you to choose between the two, but go in with your eyes wide open and understand exactly what you're getting.

Personally, I'm getting a little sick of hearing Liberal voters complaining about rising housing and food costs, high inflation, mass immigration, temporary foreign workers, and foreign students, when those policies and outcomes are exactly what Canadian Liberals seemingly voted for.

They must being either stupid or bi-polar, or both.

Just imagine these people before the last election, "I really want to lower housing and food costs, greatly curtail immigration, decrease inflation, put a stop to the retail/fast food arm of the temporary foreign worker program, and cut the number of foreign students... I guess I'll vote Liberal."

A Rogan podcast is the best way for someone to have the time to get their points across and for listeners/watchers to really get to know a guest. The long form format works well for this, and Rogan is a fair host imo. It's funny how a lot of really left leaning politicians and celebrities avoid his show. I look forward to hearing this and getting beyond the usual soundbites and clips that dominate the news. It will be positive for Poilievre if he makes a good impression, Rogan has a huge audience.

As for the Liberals, one year in and I don't know if much has changed, despite all their talk. Some things take time I guess. For 10 years they did everything to hinder new resource projects, now they've done a complete about face and are framing energy and resources as Canada's savior. They should have been planning for this years ago, it's not like it's a surprise, the signs and warnings were there.

Was looking forward to this, but too much time was spent chatting about MMA, not sure the purpose of PP trying to fit in with that discussion...

And just in case anyone scoffs at my "Liberals are globalists" comment....

I am almost finished it but kind of agree. He got a few good points across but he did sound like a politician at times. I can understand why some people feel he has a hard time connecting with the average citizen.

I agree with this, and in the current media environment, you need to look and act like a likeable and professional politician to get elected. You could be the Devil, but if you've got a nice bespoke suit, exhibit some class and manners, and have a winning smile, then you can get away with pretty well anything.

Carney could announce that he's going to start feeding orphans to lions, and some Liberal supporters would be like "Well, we do have a serious overpopulation problem in Canada, and man, does he look every inch the leader of Canada.".

He was born in Canada and he renounced his Irish and British citizenships, or is that process still not complete? After a year it should be.

Of course he did, but I'm just saying that other than younger years, he's spent the vast majority of his time away from Canada at school and work. He left Canada at 17, then went to school in the US and then London, worked for Goldman Sachs in London for 13 years before becoming the Governor of the Bank of England for 7 years and also worked for the UN before becoming PM.

He's the least-Canadian Prime Minister in history, and has already spent a record amount of time away from Canada in his first year in office (1 in 5 days has been spent abroad - right now he's in Norway/UK and is then set to take a European vacation), so it that really speaks to the current globalization of the Liberal party that ramped up under Justin Trudeau.

It's like Carney wants to be PM of Canada as an achievement, but really doesn't like living here, or like the country very much - he'd clearly much rather be in Europe or even the US. But I guess that's what Canadian voters deserve.

Which is a bit of an interesting shift. It feels like historically the PC/Conservatives played a key role in the move to a more global economy before and helped establish a lot of the trade agreements. It seems to be going back and forth really over the years.

I agree that the Liberals have literally gone off the rails to the far-left and now curry global favor instead of building up Canada - as opposed to someone like Jean Chretien, who was pretty moderate for a Lib and was a Canadian at heart. Chretien still gets a lot of respect in Canada, and even he believes that Justin Trudeau has caused Canada irreparable harm that the country may never emerge from.

The PCs have always been about Canadian business (to a fault - see Doug Ford) and as you know, these trade deals are just an easy way to Canadian business to send everything offshore and make even higher profits. So while it looks like the PCs are supporting a global initiative, they're just paying off their rich "supporters" who are now producing goods in Mexico and China or offloading IT work to India. They supported Canadian business, and that's what Canadian business wanted at the time.

The same way Justin Trudeau paid off his rich "global supporters" by grinding Canada to into the dust with his batshit-insane economic, legal and migration policies, thereby doubling Canada's national debt in a only 5 years. I bet Klaus gave him a nice pat on the head for turning that trick.

I see y'all are pretty conservative and against Globalism. I used to have a political color until I realized that there is no such thing.

On this one, Carney is way better than PP. It does not matter how you look at it; he's just better, so he had my vote.

If it had been PP against JT, then PP would have had my vote.

My major issue with PP, even though he's from the same neighbourhood I am from, and I even met him once, seemed decent, but he seemed too much of a politician to me. He's ideas are nothing new, no actual policy but just blame game and that "trust us we will do better" .

While at core I consider myself conservative, coming from a really conservative country, I think Globalism is fascinating. This is not the dark ages; economies are interconnected with each other, and people, information, and everything else also depend on them to be successful. Times have changed, and we can't stop time to proceed accordingly, like it or not.


I also, as a Canadian citizen with children born in this country that don't even speak my native language, love Canada and hate with passion anyone who sides with the US and Trump, even as a joke about annexing or doing anything to Canada, which right now my provincial government (Alberta) is really up in the Felon's ass. So, for that, again, we will vote liberal. Twice in a row for the first time in our lifetime.
