TBR Drop - Apr 8, 2026 (26.Viewing)

Come on., that's not fair - sometimes it takes a couple of years for them to show up on a TBR list.

I really feel sorry for the newbies just starting out who think that .CA is a "Get Rich Quick" option, when it's really more a "Make a Bit of Money Very Slowly" type deal, and that's if you're smart, dedicated, can find the deals, and are very lucky.

When the domains Eby, RLM and others were buying for $20 (or less) a few years ago are now selling for $200-$500+ at WHC auction, it really makes you wonder how bad the fallout is going to get.

It reminds me a bit of collectibles during COVID.

.CA is a limited national digital asset, Canadian identity is strengthening, and that lifts the floor. maybe the market is finally pricing scarcity and Canadian relevance more seriously.

I was buying groceries and gas cheaper a few years ago as well 😆 - assets rise.

at least it's a good name. did you see what sorcan.ca sold for? almost $9000....

I assume sorcan was a backlink domain and that the value was in backlinks, not the domain itself.

4803 for tavern? Good luck getting a good return on that, hopefully its an end user or the former owner wanting it back or something that might have logic to it. Feels like that money would've been better invested in something like vs.ca - where it would hold a higher wholesale value if you ever need to liquidate it.

Tavern was a SEO/backlink domain too - I think it was a Tavern Listing/Marketing site.

But you are right that is suck royally for a end user sale, as virtually no one uses that term anymore and it's all bar, lounge, nightclub, etc. It's fast going the way of Saloon.
