What is your Catalog worth at full selling price? (11.Viewing)

Ever wonder what your catalog is worth if you were to set all your domains at appraised value?

I use a spreadsheet to upload my domains to different marketplaces and noticed Google automatically tallies the columns up for me at the bottom of the sheet.



So according to that the catalog I recently uploaded to a marketplace their valuation has me set at $26 million


If you did the same for yours, at full BIN what would the estimation be?

This is a highly speculative amount and varies by what estimation tool you use, for my purposes I used SAW as the appraisal tool.

better question is, how did you get valuations for your whole catalog?

It is hard to value one domain, much less a portfolio of 100's or 1000's. It would be a fun exercise to try.

It's a fun example, and it's using the SAW.com appraisal service for the domains I uploaded there.

So you're saying if you import your portfolio to use their landing pages, they give you their valuation on every domain. I've only used the individual valuation requests, which are limited to 5 a day, and that would take many years, lol.

So you're the guy hoarding all the domains - I knew it was you and this is the proof.

Godaddy did it for me a few times ... not sure about now cause i moved so many domains away cause they are greedy and grabbing fees on every single thing... but if you have godaddy rep ask them.

in general they are hit and miss, but its fun to see.

I dropped so many they valued at 1,500 to 3,500 but kept some they said under 100. My rep kept asking me so i finally tried a few then i did my whole portfolio in two parts . one .ca the other .com.


Godaddy can do it. how good it is imo more miss than hit.

The appraisal is automatic and in your SALES LANDER SETTINGS

Download their template and paste your inventory and then re-upload the template to get your appraisals

TBH, I've never been a fan of uploading my entire inventory to fellow domainers. Other than some tests here or there on various platforms, I generally use my own landers to avoid that.

Would you be surprised to know I drive a 20 y/o car? I love having a beater, I don't feel like I've gotta wash the car every day or week all winter long. One drive up the mountain for skiing and its covered in grey filth - and I don't care. Of course my wife refuses to be seen in it though, lol.

Well, I probably make a lot fewer sales, just because I'm so stubborn. But when it pays off, it pays off.

As you know I am a fan of my own landers but you can do both.

Any high value domains I have I use the chat feature on the marketplace to prompt the end user to fill in my form before I will negotiate.
On my test landers I put quite a large BIN and I will only negotiate when my form is filled out.

As far as uploading goes, I think I have my inventory at most marketplaces and I do that to get into their reg path, spaceship and Afternic will have you there without nameservers but SAW (who shares with NameSilo) only gives reg path if the nameservers are set. I have mentioned that to them and I think that is changing soon.

So I have reg path at most marketplaces as well as my own landers and switching nameservers once in a while draws a renewed interest. Traffic always spikes after a name servers change.

So you are probably losing eyeballs by not taking advantage of the reg paths, once you have the templates downloaded its a breeze to upload inventory because the only field that matters is the BIN price. I can sort alphabetically and paste it in each template to upload in an instant.

All that said I sometimes like to make the price cheaper at one market[lace where a potential client thinks it's a mistake and it makes him hit BIN just a bit sooner.

Yep, I certainly realize that, and its not a bad idea if you're willing to list inventory everywhere, and put BIN prices on all of it. Based on tests over the years, there have been a couple chump-change type bin sales that come through a reg-path without using nameservers. But those are such a tiny % of revenues, I'm not sure its worth the effort. Some day, I may go to the effort to pick some bottom percentage of my portfolio and do exactly that, BIN everything and list it every where. But when I do that, I'll list my price on my own lander, then add in the commissions+fees when listing on marketplaces.

I find on my lander people want to deal in CAD and on Marketplaces it's automatic USD so commissions don't play into it too much. The 37% exchange takes care of most commissions and then some.

Technically on DomainEasy does it right where I can have red.ca as a lander and still use domaineasy.com/buy-domain/red.ca without name servers.

I use similar in our Premium market place dn.ca/forsale/red.ca

So I can advertise them in different places at different prices if I want to.
