The launch of the .PAY extension has certainly piqued the interest of businesses in the payment sector, but the real question remains: How will it influence search engine optimization (SEO) for companies in this space?

With the rise of specialized TLDs like .cash, .money, .finance, .bank, .credit, and .loans, does the .PAY extension offer a distinct advantage when it comes to SEO for payment-related services, or does it face the same challenges as other niche financial domains?

How do these specialized extensions impact branding, trust, and visibility for businesses operating in the financial sector?

I think it will be a successful launch but the PAY keyword in .com will only become more valuable.

As far as SEO goes I think it's going to be problematic unless strictly policed. As soon as scammers can register .pay it's going to go to hell in a handbag and become like .top which is so obviously an extension used by a lot of scammers. That will impact SEO severely and hamper the extension.

The highest value will go to owners of a domain like MaplePay that then register maple.pay and they will have both.

PS. One of my fave extensions has always been .pro so painters.pro is immediately a great domain for a painting company.
