It's got to be from a registry where they like to claw it back and then play domain investor by raising the registration price, and often the renewal price as well.
Those are dangerous things to buy as some have registration and renewal rates of $10K or higher.

That particular tool, while I haven't tested it exhaustively, gives a quick indication if a domain has a registry premium registration and renewal fee. It's not judging the quality of domains

@jamesilesI looked up a few and it seems that GoDaddy is not making mention or notation on these listings that the renewal prices could be thousands of dollars per year?
I know Dynadot also sells expired and auction registry premiums, but the renewal price is displayed on the listings page.
