The Chinese registrant of Baidu.ai acquired it for $12,000 dollars in 2017, then placed a poem on its landing page.

Baidu Online Network Technology is registered in China since 2000, as the country’s most popular search engine. It is impossible, therefore, for anyone in China to not be aware of Baidu and its popularity as a brand. They filed a UDRP with the WIPO to get the domain through the mediation process.

Meanwhile, the Respondent claims that Baidu means “read with respect” all while the “ai” suffix stands for “love.”

Domainers are still doing stupid things, you can register google, baidu, facebook etc in .horse and still be in trouble. What is there to be gained from it? You know you're going to lose out, it's an exercise in futility.

That should be true according to what I've heard, but what about the recent sale of telehouse.ca? Telehouse.com has been in use since 1998, owned by a company in business since 1987. Why wasn't UDRP used in that situation? Does Baidu own a trademark in Anguilla? Baidu doesn't appear to be trademarked in Canada.

But then .ai is marked as 'open for general registration...'
