I am going to open up a can of worms here because I am a sub domain nit and have sold lots of those hacks in the past.
You can register...
1dan.com and then create a a sub domain of ns giving you ns.1dan.com
Not technically correct because its ns1.dan.com but ns.1dan.com could easily be mistaken as such.
