No Namespro again this week. I took a $20 gamble at NP and it doesn't look like they picked up the name...or anyone else for that matter since it's available for hand reg right now.

Does anyone know if NP will try register the name later on and charge me the TBR price or are they just ignoring the TBR altogether now?
I'd say that's a good indication they've pretty much just thrown in the towel.

With iFeelGood.ca and SoNice.ca on the drop today I couldn't help but think of this song:

And someone here owns SugarAndSpice.ca... lol

Wow, pretty observant, guess I saw both of them but that didn't trigger the connection. And now I know who owns SugarAndSpice too. Nice 3-word domain for that other topic too.

I need advice on how to stop spying on my stopspying(dot)ca. :)

I had a time stopspying on the list today.

Had my visors on with some smarttoys makingchanges as lifewithnewbaby ashleyangel (a fussybaby ) is like a swimmer with new experiences.

There were many skeptics like anitas offduty hubby marco.

Did you notice the debtcollector alexandralarouche who travelled through the centralplains of crosscreek and moonlake on citylimo airdriecitytaxi?

Has NamesPro recently dropped their CIRA TBR links and now just hand-reg all their TBR pre-orders (that are available) at 4:01 like the rest of the world? That would make sense, as NP hasn't had a valid TBR order in a few weeks....

If so, then LOL at anyone still ordering there. :p:D :geek:

Well I'm 99% sure they get one free TBR link as a registrar. So it'd be silly for them to purposely not use it during the TBR session and instead try and register it once its open to the public. I'm guessing something must have went wrong for them to not be able to register that domain during the TBR session. Or maybe they know their TBR scripts aren't running properly and just didn't want to invest the effort to fix them either.

I think it was the same thing last week, where they didn't even make the list, so something is up.

@richard.schreier Can you confirm that "every registrar gets one free TBR link"?

I just followed up with NP to see what happened. Looks like the name was registered at 20:44 GMT...which is 16:44EST and 13:44PST

If they indeed hand-regged it, I'll ask for it to be voided (and get a complete refund) or to refund me the difference between my $20 TBR bid and the hand-reg cost. We're not talking big bucks here, but it's the principle of it.

In hindsight, I don't even want the name anymore :)

Well I donā€™t think thatā€™s right personally. If itā€™s not registered within the TBR timeframe they should not be charging $20.

I think the issue with TBR and the advantage some get is the fact they are able to get unlimited connections. It is tough to compete with WHC and myID for that reason.

Droplist Connection FeeA fee payable by a Registrar for any additional Droplist Connections over and above the one connection offered by CIRA as part of the Registrarā€™s certification. Any extra Droplist Connections added by the Registrar during the year will be charged the full Droplist Connection Fee. On the Registrarā€™s re-certification date, the Registrar will be charged an amount based on their number of Droplist connections at that moment in time.$1,000.00

Thanks for that, as like RLM, I wasn't 100% sure.

So it looks like NamesPro may have cooked their TBR preorder system and is doing it manually post-TBR now... and might be fixing it...

Until they do, I would be very hesitant to place orders that you can hand-register yourself at 4:01, rather than waiting for NP to do it at 5:00 for double the price.

I totally agree, and if you find out what's going on there (are they going to be doing real TBR orders in the future or is it Hand-Reg City for the time being?) please let us know.

At we now have the answer to the mystery of why NamesPro TBR orders dipped considerably the last few weeks. (y)

Yeah, I get that some feeling every week, especially when I forget to cancel some pre-orders at Dot-CA. šŸ˜

Will do

Damn, what looked like an LLL almost caught me today.

@rlm re: TBR connections, confirmed, every RAR has one free connection and then can pay for any additional. This used to require that RARs would create multiple "companies" in order to have multiple connections. Now we allow RARs to add connections for TBR under a single RAR contract which has pretty much eliminated all the TBR shell companies (unless of course they are also being used for .COM drop catching)

Any predictions on what Marco.ca will go for?

It's currently at $600 and rising with almost 2 hours to go.
