Tells a bit of a different tale, doesn't it
Yes, traditionally we've mostly filled retail $$ orders. We have recently shifted our focus toward getting a better percentage of the premium domains. Time will tell if it works out. Lots of changes went into production today, lots more coming.

You guys are great to deal with, and I was just spelling out that total numbers don't always tell the full tale.

Surprised to see domains such as AFPA.ca and ACSE.ca did not get grabbed, despite being popular acronyms. Do random 4L .ca not sell very well?

Not really and the .CA market is incredibly small compared to other TLDs so what works in .COM almost never works in .CA.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, but you need to treat .CA like the top 5-10% of .COM (premiums, premiums, and more premiums) but still be very cognizant of how much you spend, as Canadian business is cheap as dirt when it comes to online branding.

It's a very tough market and way tougher than .COM/.CO/,IO/et al.

I can't believe no one else really went after Skye.ca.... That one seems to have completely flew under the radar for everyone. I placed orders for it on every TBR registrar, yet at WHC there was only two last second $20 & $35 bids. I'm very happy with that $50 score.

Thanks @bmetal !

You know I was in there (it was actually my 3rd ranked domain), but I do give you kudos for going hog-wild with every registrar, as I just stuck with WHC thinking they'd win it. It's a really good name and right up my alley on all the top metrics.

I was late and a bit off this week due to... well, me being off this week LOL, so take these while you can as I expect to be back at full speed next time.

They're a tough sell. I've had many popular exact match acronyms over the years and never got a sniff

Also, overall, the .CA market is a hard one (just look at Namebio)... 1/10th the size of the US and restricted to Canadians means when you have to stick to the cream of the crop at TBRs and hand-regs.

4Ls and random two-words are best kept for Black Friday-type sales

And also make sure you don't spend too much, unless it's a hobby, as the numbers will absolutely bury you. Because the .CA sales are sparse compared to other TLDs and the margins are usually a lot lower than .COM, you absolutely require the ability to stop bidding when your predetermined limit is reached and then calmly move on to the next opportunity. No place for Gold Fever in .CA.

Investing in .CA right now is like a juggling + trapeze act over a pool of hungry sharks.

I wonder if 3C.ca is going to pass into 4-figures?

Sure seems like it.

LOL, the second I say that it's over.

I am kinda surprised at how how Aware is going, and the bidder styles couldn't be different. One guy rebids the second after a counter while the other guy waits until the last second. Mr Antsy vs Mr Patient.

"And we're into 4-figures now Bob."

Let's just say I'm very, very surprised at how high Aware went, and leave it at that.

agri.ca 2551
aware.ca 1224
3c.ca 753
cooperate.ca 555

Whoa! That's one sweet chunk of change for Danny Boy, especially Agri.

That was a weird auction at WHC - I think my screen was out of sync as auctions with 1+ minutes left in extra time suddenly started disappearing.

Oh well, more money for next week.
