Just went through the list and this week looks pretty bad - there is only a single LLL that I can find (ZRV) and it sucks hard. No single words worth a bid either and none of the multi-words (which are a tough sell in .CA at the best of times) makes sense to spend $20+ on for the .CA.

And so far we've only got 4... make that 5 (someone just bid on Sips) TBR orders on the WHC Hot List...

Don't know why but sips.ca seems to resonate with me

Now that you mention it, sips can be catchy brandable for the beverage industry.

every time I go through TBR my brain turns to mush and even when it is really bad I still manage to choose a few ok ones. Makes me happy when there isn't anything I want to pay for.

@DomainRecap Are you planning to bring back .ca TBR on your blog?

Maybe you're just trying to scare people away from bidding on those domains, but 40% of my sales in the past 5 years were 2-word domains.

It depends on the domain and whether those "two words" belong together. I didn't see any that did.

Probably not as it was just far too much work for zero money, and over time I thought I would get a TBR sponsor, but none said yes. I had planned on offering it on a subscription basis, but I did the numbers and it still didn't make sense.

When Tuesday night rolls around and you want to toss your laptop out the window, it's time to stop. Plus, with the CIRA streamlining the site with all kinds of sorting and search features (rather than a HTML/TXT document) there is far less reason to do it.

I may bring back the TBR Results, as that isn't the ponderous workload that the TBR Picks turned out to be.

I think there are 3 domains I may lay down min-bids on, but there is absolutely nothing on the list that would get me into a bidding war.

And with the economy tanking + inflation spiking it seems to have lowered my offers greatly and capped any offers I do get at around $1K, I'm not exactly bullish on .CA sales right at the moment. Everyone is worried about insane gas prices and rising interest rates hammering on their debt.

DomainRecap was clearly attempting mass hypnosis here:)

More often than not, DomainRecap single-handedly kept the .ca thread alive at NP, and TBR picks were some selfless time-intensive posts.

I don't know if I would post names I am interested in, and not posting the best names feels a tad disingenuous

I am not exactly optimistic on what the "build back better" economic transition will do to domain values. Hopefully good names will stay relevant and keep up with inflation.

Damn, I was hoping to see a .CA on this week's Sedo list, but there was nothing. No new .CA sales posted on Namebio since June either.

These gas prices are killing everyone.

Ha ha ha.

I can only assume from the laugh that you drive electric... but that's not the point - businesses are suffering because no one has any excess income due to higher gas prices & interest rates taking a larger chunk of their paychecks, or even if they do have a few dollars left over, people are thinking twice before taking their cars out and driving around the town/city looking for crap.

had an offer from a realtor for a City+Homes.ca of $1500 US just before last weekend (a city in BC). I have a higher BIN listed on it so just turned the offer down. they haven't come back with a higher offer so will see what happens, based on the city I would like to get a little more at least. Lol I almost never accept the first offer, why do I do this to myself. :)

The US Fed will probably raise rates tomorrow by 0.75%. Another price shock to people and businesses in the US that reverberates everywhere else. Many think these central banks are now raising rates into a recession, and will have to stop or start lowering rates again soon if there is too much stress on the economy. Next few weeks/months should be very interesting. These higher rates might be dampening demand and giving a pause in inflation, but they aren't fixing the real problem which is supplies and supply chains. Plus it is really starting to stress the housing market in Canada.

The public policy promoting the adoption of electric cars is purely ideological and directly and indirectly subsidized, eventually gov will collect tax on electric vehicles just like it does through gasoline.

It is easy to question one's sanity when MSM is normalizing this fad of a diet. Suddenly eating bugs doesn't sound too bad:)

To be honest, that's not the case. I am still trying to figure it out. But I had the foresight to purchase electriccar.ca in TBR many many years ago. It wasn't cheap even then.

The reason I had to laugh was because it is something we discuss on a weekly basis. I heard Canadians were waiting for gas prices to drop to last year levels, before they go out on road trips again over 680News. That would be a wait for years to come and your comment was so timely. Now with RBC predicting "Canadian Real Estate To See A “Historic Correction,” "Biggest Drop Ever", it is only going to prolong the agony and aggravate the issue at hand.

I am not laughing at you but the current events.
