What is up with Earings? Another Racoon?

Lol I remember racoon, and I think you're right. I didn't place any bids for it but I also didn't notice it was missing a letter, until now.

So we're even.

I'm sorry to whomever may have placed the highest bid on that one. Hopefully someone outbids you.

It does have a bit of history at least, and maybe EA Sports will start selling rings? EArings? lol

This domain was in the drop despite only being registered ~2 months ago.

The contact info was private but I can only assume CIRA ran a RIV on the owner and put it to TBR after they failed to show a Canadian presence? Could there be any other explanation for it to go to TBR this early? Maybe they cancelled their purchase and got a refund? I don't even know if that's possible but maybe?

cubatours.ca

I think that is a great domain with good potential.

Agreed, though the hard part is harnessing that good potential.

Sounds about as good a reason as any, unless the owner asked for it to be deleted, which is unlikely. Maybe they thought they were registering scubatours.ca?

Also note that cubatours was in TBR on Feb 12, 2020 as well (and no one picked it up!)

But my bet is that you'll eventually see it get redirected here by the new owner: http://authenticubatours.ca, that is unless it was registered by one of you. And if you did, you should contact this owner in Toronto and sell it to them. They own quite a few similar cuba tour domains.

Interesting that they own authenticubatours and authenticcubatours. Not sure if that was a mistake when you posted it or not but they own both.

yes, I did know they had both too. I can't remember now if I cut-and-pasted the typo or of I actually typo'd it. But either way, its a good example of how those double letters between two words are always problematic.

Yep, and if I had an earing for every time I've experienced that, I'd be a rich man.

Coming down to the end of the Siber auctions...

Damn, Aquarium.ca just took a big jump.

Boom! Another massive jump in bid price.

This is going for a LOT more than I thought it would.

Would make a great e-commerce site.

Agreed, but usually the end price is at least close to the pre-bid price at non-auction registered (around $700-$800) and from the bidding it appeared that two bidders really wanted it. And that's all you need.

BreastCancer.ca was my favourite.

I was bidding on dementia. But damn it, someone here got me distracted thinking about lobster bathed in butter and I missed getting a bid in on time. Did anyone here win it?? I'm half tempted to email myid and see what price they'd let it go for right now, I'm assuming it was a keeper for them and that it wasn't an end user. I guess we'll see.

BreastCancer and Dementia caught my eye as well, but what would you do with names like that? Are charities or governments paying up for good domains?

Also, would you even want to jack the price knowing it's a legit charity inquiring? Like a real charity doing God's work, unlike other charities like WE or the United Way that have bloated salaries and who do mostly administrative work

I have Lyme.ca and have had a number of inquiries but always the same yada yada yada

Can I have it cheap I am trying to help consumers get over Lyme disease.

I will probably be changing my logo on this one and playing it as a brandable of lime, maybe that will get more results.

So from my personal experience, I do not have much luck with medical terms.

I think big pharma corporations could put names like this to good use. Maybe not the .ca quite so much, but Dementia.com is owned by Janssen Pharmaceuticals (of Johnson & Johnson).
