Last week Mr Adam Dicker dropped pf.ca (probably by accident)

Lets hope the current 3 letters from this week are not accidental drops from anyone as well.
There seems to be a few nice ones there.

There are no 2 letters this week.

Text Box:
i5m.ca 2021-11-10
kjj.ca 2021-11-10
m-e.ca 2021-11-10
ptz.ca 2021-11-10
rrv.ca 2021-11-10
uub.ca 2021-11-10
z2z.ca 2021-11-10

Don’t know with all the reminders the registrars give how you accidentally drop a ll.ca *DONT_KNOW*

I really feel for Adam. After all he knows it’s value. It must have been one of those he thought was renewed but never double checked. He couldn’t have purposely dropped it. Registrars send too many renewal notices that just takes up space. But in this case it would have been a blessing to check it.

I too have missed a few that fell through the cracks when I use to have them all over the place.

I can only wish nothing like that happens to any one of us.

Does “Domain Authority” actually think that Adam wouldn’t see any value in a 2 letter .ca? Adam did sell a 2 letter .ca for $200K US early this year. Obviously it was a mistake. I would think that any CC 2 letter holds more that registration fee and then some.

Yeah I guess… I certainly have a lot less than they do so easier for me to keep track as I also move them to NamesPro (.ca’s) or NameSilo as soon as I can more easily keep track of them

When you own a lot of domains you don’t even look at the renewal emails. I know I don’t. I just go in my accounts often enough and renew.

I renew all my domains every January 1st

I cannot miss a renewal that way

Here are the likely scenarios :

1. Credit card declined
2. he got hacked? adamdicker.ca

I really hope we don’t have to keep talking about him on every TBR thread though. We’ve all dropped domains. Accidentally or not.

That's the best advice that I always give to people - consolidate all your domains at one registrar, or at least all your .ca at one good .ca registrar. Every few months move those TBR domains over. This way you have a couple opportunities. Yes, I know you may not want to renew it early, but for the number and price you're paying for TBR, just factor in the extra $12 right from the start.

I don't know about you lot, but I know if I had a 2 letter, auto-renew would be turned waaayyy ON :D

I really don’t believe auto-renew is a fail-safe option. Your credit card can expire. There are other reasons transactions may not go through.

For me, if I were to set on auto-renew I am more likely to drop domains in the future as I would stop checking in.

As rlm pointed above consolidating is a good idea. But I also think a routine for how you renew domains is important. The same way you may check in on your BIN prices annually etc.

And for the record, I don't auto-renew either. For one, that's an easy way to get screwed on renewal prices by the many registrars you're forced to use from various acquisitions and TBR. Two, [notify]theinvestor[/notify] is dead on, auto-renew breeds complacency, and it is by no means fail-safe.

So take it from two .ca old-timers, consolidate and make a routine that gives you multiple opportunities to renew. And if you might ever have trouble with paying for renewals, every time you do make a sale, renew some domains while you have the cash.

Or don't. I always like finding those nuggets of gold in TBR!

I completely forgot about that….all of a sudden the discount code would expire and they would renew at full price or it wouldn’t get applied to certain items and you had to do it manually.

This is one of those domains that if you somehow win it/want it, you donate it to the proper person/group. There is really no other option! I don’t care what political party one is associated with.

I presume the name was dropped by the NDP last year and picked up. A year later it’s back in TBR.

Maybe they bought it for the purpose to donate it but couldn’t get a right contact?

I checked the Whois but I don’t recognize the name. The name should have some sort of memorial on it dedicate to him.
