TBR Musings - November 10, 2021 (1.Viewing)

Me neither…I’m just thinking of reasons domains could fetch for more in TBR. Mistakes happen and people accidentally drop their domains. It has happened numerous times when people approach me weeks or days after TBR.

The reason you get bullseyes is due to front-loading the server in the battle for ultra-premiums. This week was junk, but like you said, if there are some top domains this week then we'll see a return to form.

Happened to me only once. A guy dropped a very low profile .ca dating site. He owned the .com so he wanted his .ca back. He was very nice and polite so I sold it back to him at my cost from the TBR.

It had to the combination of "old owner" vs "multiple TBR investors" to drive the price that high - there are tons of supposed records on archive.org (indicative of an active site) up to 2020, but they appear to be wiped so it's tough to tell who used to own it. But someone definitely did.

There is also a guy originally from Ontario but now living in Alberta with those initials which he goes by. He ran for mayor of Calgary just recently. Maybe it was him wanting it.
