As the new year approaches it is inevitable that members (myself included) are looking at their catalog's and trying to determine what to renew and what to drop.

My heart always breaks when I drop a .com and see it picked up by Huge Domains, but then I feel better when I see them drop it five years later and of course a green domainer picks it up again.

The domaining game is a waiting game, you cannot wholesale yourself into profitability, that is what I say to most of the new guys joining here.

Post your domains, plant seeds, research possible end users but don't panic. Nobody wants to purchase a panic sale catalog, it shows desperation and most experienced .ca domainers will just wait for the drop.

My advice to newer domainers in the new year is to pick your top 100 domains and cull the rest to stay in budget. Change that total to 1000 or reduce it to 10 as long as you stay in budget. Then converse on the forum, learn from the more experienced domainers and have fun. I have so much fun domaining I sometimes forget it's a business. For me it's a lifestyle, it's friends I love to connect with and making money when I least expect it.

So the part that OpenAI missed is....

Domaining is a patient waiting game, the enemy is desperation and over spending.
If it's fun, and you can easily pay your renewals, then you are on the right track to being a successful domainer.
