Things just got easier for those interested in getting better pricing for their domains WHC. If you have over 25+ domains, you can sign up for The Domain Club, and you will receive discounted pricing. Here is the announcement that will go out later today on our blog.

The Domain Club at WHC

This new year’s off to a great start for domainers and domain enthusiasts at WHC. Always with the goal of continuously improving the overall domain experience at WHC...

We just launched The Domain Club!

That's right! After launching our own backorder platform for .CA domains and adding new domain features, we’re now introducing a new savings program for those looking to get the most out of their domains: The Domain Club

Joining is simple and available to clients with 25+ domains at WHC. Curious to know how to become a member? Let’s dive into it.

What is it?

The Domain Club is a savings program, exclusive to WHC clients with larger domain portfolios. Joining the Club gives you access to rock-bottom prices on domain renewals, on top of the everyday low prices on registrations. Becoming a member is simple, entirely free and it’s available to clients with at least 25 domains here at WHC.

Who can join?

If you have 25+ domains here at WHC, you qualify automatically for the Bronze membership, which gives you discounts on domain renewals and privacy protection.

For those with 75+ domains, you automatically become a Gold member, allowing for even greater savings and premium privacy protection for free.

Which TLDs are discounted?

Currently, on top of the lowest registration prices on almost all of our 400+ domain extensions, members of the Club get a discount when renewing the following top level domains: .CA, .COM, .ORG, .NET, .INFO, .BIZ and .QUEBEC. Keep an eye out, as we plan to add more extensions to the list very soon.

What’s included?

As always at WHC, every domain you have with us includes free domain forwarding, free email forwarding, as well as our Canadian DNS hosting and an advanced DNS zone editor.

Any new registered domains can also benefit from a free 1-page website with Weebly website builder. This allows you to create and publish an online presence for your domain in just a few clicks.

We’ll also be adding new features and perks, exclusive to Club members as we continue to expand the program over the upcoming months.

And that's not to mention all the other benefits of choosing WHC for your domains. We’re a proudly Canadian company, headquartered in Montreal. Prices are in Canadian Dollars, and our friendly team is available 24/7.

How do I join?

Becoming a member is simple and pricing will adjust automatically once you join the club. Plus, there are no membership fees or hidden costs to be a member!

If you currently manage 25 or more domains at WHC or to know how many domains you have with us, visit The Domain Club page and click Join the Club. After you log in your WHC account, you’ll get confirmation of your membership and your tier (Bronze or Gold) if you qualify.

If you don’t have enough domains to qualify, you can always register more or transfer your domains from other providers easily in just a few clicks.

What’s next for domains at WHC?

The domains team is always looking to improve the experience for domainers and domain fans at WHC. We’re currently working on offering premium domains and exploring aftermarket options.

Also, keep your eyes peeled for other exciting news, such as a friendly domainer get-together in our Montreal office. On that note, the whole team here looks forward to welcoming you to The Domain Club!

Including myself, Frank Micklick, Chief Domain Nerd at WHC!

@DomainTrader

Don't worry about that, the transfer in fee is $9.99 which is the top tier rate you can get.

Transfer in 25 domains and renewals will be reduced for you.

All transfers in are at an incredible price by default.

PS. Registrations are also at this great price by default, it's the renewals everyone hits you on that WHC is giving Gold pricing for.

I’m looking for platinum pricing… :)

I'm dropping all my .net's so that was a bigger one for me, the pricing on those are getting to high everywhere.

I bought a couple of catalogs and as a bonus inherited a few hundred .net's.

I quickly realized they were not a bonus and are instead a bottomless pit of renewals.

So with @FM 's help we have virtually concluded the importing of 500+ domains into WHC.

WHC did the hard part preserving all my setting, forwarders etc for me and although I was their guinea pig and there were a couple of minor hiccups the overall migration went well for me. Not sure how many people they had working on it on the WHC side but for me all the settings and everything are exactly where I expected them to be.

Congratulations to their team for getting it done.

I did notice godaddy is hanging on to the high value .com's to the bitter end. The lower value ones transferred but I had to get manual email approval from support before they would agree to move my high ticket .com's. At first that peeved me a bit but in the end I appreciate that godaddy took the extra steps to protect my assets.

As a bonus I saved huge over godaddy with $9.99 for .ca and $12.99 for .com's.

Remember when looking at the chart post by FM that transfers in are at a cheaper rate so if you safe $2 per domain you realize a $1000 savings pretty fast moving in a catalog. With domain discount club at godaddy a .ca costs $11.99 to renew compared to $10.99 with Gold pricing and $9.99 with transfer in.

So far I am happy, I am beta testing the new control panel and as with all beta you have to point out the bugs but so far I am quite pleased.

Three people were involved this time, but we got scripts as a result of it and a list of feature requests for the transfer form and for the client area :)

Thank you for helping us get better.

right now I'm paying $11.60 before tax for renewals at Namespro on their discount program, so would be 61 cents less per domain at WHC Gold, and a higher saving the first year if I just start transferring in at $9.99 each.

The transfers for my .ca would save me over $1000 this year.

That said, I hate the idea of transferring back and forth between registrars each year for the saving, and would rather just have a reasonable cost registrar that offers good service.

I never would have considered this with Sibername, but it seems WHC is more proactive and becoming more domainer friendly.

We'll see, will have to give it some thought. Over $1000 per year savings is a pretty good start.

Curious if the $9.99 for transfers is a money loser, a break even, or a small profit for registrars?

As I said I hate the idea of transferring between two registrars every year, but when you have 100's domains and can save over $1 on each, and both registrars are good, then it becomes attractive if it doesn't take too much time. If it's not profitable for the registrars and many customers start doing it, my concern is the quality at the registrars starts going down over time. My preference is just a quality registrar with competitive prices which don't have to be the lowest.
