Choosing a brand name is one of the most important early decisions you’ll make—and when that brand includes a double character, such as “tt,” “mm,” or “ll” at the junction between two words, things get tricky fast. Think SmartThings, WattTime, AmazingGrass or even GreenNutrition—they all have one thing in common: a double letter right where the two words meet.

We ran into some of that at DN.ca, it took forever to get us properly indexed whereas when I ran another Two Word Domain forum I got indexed immediately, especially when I typed the name into Google directly.

DN.ca and even Domain Names Canada is so generic that it mixes up all content in a search whereas something unique like NamePost Canada shows up number one immediately.

That is why at one point we considered re-badging to NamePost because we own the .CA and the .COM. Post your Name for sale, NamePost.ca was always more descriptive of what we actually are but it has been put on the back burner because DN.ca is finally indexed properly.
