TBR Drop - Jan 21, 2026 (2.Viewing)

Whoever drops this much on the name, better have a lot more zeros in the bank account to put into development. In the early 2000s I've built a relatively sizeable media outlet for students in North America with an annual audience of about 2mln. Young audience is great and with a name like University.ca you can capture a very good portion of it (if you know what you are doing), but the road to monetization (in my case) was both slow and painful.

Yeah, and I expect a mailbox full of apologies for all the hammering I got saying University was more saleable than Commerce.

:D
I still think Commerce.ca is more valuable. It's institutional, Shopify/Stripe level potential. University.ca will forever be tied to academic/student audience.

I pulled out when my bid went from 8,201 to 10,000 (proxy) without bidding against anyone

Technically my last bid was $8,201 with a max of 10k

Who was I bidding against after $8,201 ?

The only thing I can think of is that the other bidder bid exactly $10K and the Grape system couldn't handle showing two bids at the exact same amount, so only displayed yours.

No mine was a max bid from a few bids before

I know, but here's how I see it.

You had a $10K proxy and '1d28e' bid exactly $10K and the system couldn't display both bids, so only showed yours. In-between your $8201.00 and your $10,000 bids, there should also be a $10,000 bid from '1d28e', but I am assuming the system can't handle that scenario and probably only looks for price changes.
