People are just updating their bids (thinking that high bid wins outright) at WHC and when 2 or more do that, we suddenly get a bidding war on a domain WHC didn't even win.
It's just newbs who think they're winning, when they're actually losing.

As you can see from the pre-auction bid-ups at WHC, newbies seem to be flooding into .CA as if this is some get-rich quick scheme. It's like a kid in a candy shop - everything looks great!
You can't help these people, so just let them buy all the crappy domains they can afford, as they'll eventually figure it out when the renewals bills come due.
A gambling university sounds like a good fit for monetization.

University.ca currently at $1400 with 35 minutes to go. Any bets what it is going to go for?
To be honest I am a little shocked it is going to go for what commerce.ca went a week earlier. And the bidding isn't even over yet. 
There is something wired about the University.ca auction.

Does anyone have a clue what's going in with the bidding record?
I see someone bidding $XXXX and then the bidder name disappears and is replaced by 'd41d8' until the entire bidding name list is just one person.
It's bizarre as it doesn't come close to displaying what's really going on, as it looks like some maniac bidding against himself.

Beat me to it - if you watch the live bidding, there is a new bidder name that sits there for a second, before being replaced by 'd41d8'.
Seems like the Grape auction logic is all screwed up, or the system was not designed to handle a 2-bidder contest like this, with monstrously-sized proxies.
That doesn't happen with me.

You have to watch very close, as the Bidder Name only FLASHES quickly on the screen, then is replaced by "d41d8". No way you could get a screenshot of it.
