I am working on a little project for my son and he needs to charge an annual subscription fee of $24 USD to his users and we ended up using GoDaddy payment links and I can tell you compared to all the other services this was by far the easiest and most inexpensive way to set up.

GoDaddy as a payment processor? Who would have thunk it, certainly not me and to top it all of the fee was quite reasonable. From the $24 dollars he received in his account $23.35 making it exceedingly cheap to take money.

He basically has an interface, publishes a payment link, the client clicks it and pays and at the end of each BUSINESS day the funds are processed into his account. It does take a couple of days to land but the process is seamless.

It is CAD by default and you have to work with GoDaddy support to change to USD if you are based in Canada. I am currently working on a way to accept multiple currencies but the links are not available everywhere. I have not verified it yet but I think it is North America only.

Theoretically one should be able to use this for domain sales and I expect there is probably a cap near 5k or so but it would be interesting to see if this would be a substitute for the spaceship 5% payment links.

If so this would be a far more cost effective way to take payments in the sub 5k category.

but what is the risk of payment reversal??? that’s the big question.

Yeah, it's probably not as bad as paypal (which I refuse to use) but a bigger risk than some.

That said, a proper bill of sale and for smaller piddley sales this is ideal.

Mind you, useless in Canada with E-Transfer but on sales outside of Canada it could be helpful on the smaller sales with minimal risk.
