Twitter is on fire with .xyz conspiracies today.

Some domainers are dumping even their premium .xyz names

I have to dig more into this and see what it's about.

I think most of us here have felt something unrealistic about xyz - and have discussed it privately and publicly. If this is was all a big pump and dump scheme on the backs of trumped up or outright fake sales, that wouldn't surprise me at all.

Dan and Namebio have come forward and said sales are legit.
Those who are attacking her have yet to come out with any proof. Now the thing has blown up and other investors are going against her and it turned into XYZ investors vs .com. Some went to the length to delete and dump their names.

They asked her to prove her sales and she did.
Asked her to make a statement saying she doesn't have any insider dealing with XYZ founder and she did.
Asked her to provide her company info and she provided it.

Now they're asking her to come on video to see if she's real. These trolls won't be satisfied.

This is going out of control. This is more like a witch hunt and are borderline harassing Swetha. It all started at NP and moved to Twitter.

I hope its all true, would be an amazing story. But my spidey senses were tingling as it seems odd that one person had so many amazing sales on a tld that had so little adoption and had been flogged many times previously with Negari's marketing tactics, including giving the domains away. A quick look at namebio shows 62% of reported xyz sales over $20K are swetha's. Logical people would be wise to question it, schemes such as pump and dump or laundering ill-gotten funds certainly crossed my mind. How could it not?

I was there when .mobi came out and Rick bought flowers in his TRAFFIC auction through Monte, that felt very suspect, whether it was or not. But its also possible Rick was just showing off after a big sale and flush when he was flush with cash, taking a big swing (which was a miss when .mobi went bust).

It would be interesting if the sales platforms reviewed the swetha and xyz buyers, looking for any connections that really shouldn't be there, such as IP addresses, locations, were buyers verified, the sources and types of funds, etc... That's the real data that would be meaningful, not that we'd ever see it.

All that being said, there seems to be just enough evidence of legit buyers and development to give it some level of credence. Or does that just mean the pump and dump has been effective?

In any case, my opinions are just based on healthy skepticism and not really many facts. But it also doesn't really matter to me, I won't be investing in them anyway.
