I hope this helps and is detail enough.

Sorry I know how to do that, and as stated earlier, that's how I'm performing basic authentication at sites like Dan, but I'm referring to DNS management, whereby you can change and edit a LOT more than just nameservers. DNS TXT is required for GoDaddy so right now I can't list anything I own at RegisterDomain.ca on GD Auctions, which hurts.

On RegisterDomain.ca, go to Domains, then select one with Manage Domain, then look on the left menu for AddOns.

Under AddOns there are two options, DNS Host Record Management and Email Forwarding.

DNS Host Record Management is what you need for the DNS management of a domain, but when I click on "Manage" I get booted back to the main screen.

Can you test and see if you get the same behavior.

I think it's the other way around

I just started playing around with RegisterDomain to see where my domain ended up from a while ago. Now I understand what CatchDrop was saying. Their renewals are at cost…. So anyone know if you can transfer in at cost too?

This is pretty crazy….

This might be a question for those at @CatchDrop to answer. I can understand why you are interested in it, but I don't have an answer. Sorry.

Technical issues on any platform should be resolved directly between the user and the platform. We are very attentive to all our users and we work around the clock to resolve any and all technical issues that arise during our current Beta.

I put in a bug report yesterday - since it doesn't create a support ticket like most places, will I get a response by email?

Registrars are not making much off of renewals we all know that. So maybe they are hoping their revenue is going to be generated from hosting and TBR. Either way, it’s something that everyone is going to take notice of. It goes back to what I said earlier. Price is not the only thing we all look at when choosing a registrar but I am sure many will start paying attention to them as they grow.

I was just asking to see if you could replicate the issue, not go to work in their tech support department. :p

Plus, earlier you did say you could change the DNS on a domain, so you got yourself into this.

ABSOLUTELY! Registrations, Renewals & transfers are at COST PRICE FOREVER ! Currently $9.50 CAD

Forever is a long time, I would suggest you word that more carefully because if things change in the future there are always people that will hold on to those words.

I will have to think about it but there may be a way of saying it that still gives an out if ever needed.

If you were in at $316, I'm not sure how $555 magically makes it and end user?

I'm just looking at my numbers and how they relate to a potential sale, as $555 is not extravagant or anything, but above what I anticipated with that and only 2 bidders before I jumped in late.

Plus, there was the bidding pattern that got me thinking "investor vs broker".

So I hate to admit it, but @DomainRecap is basically right. However, I don't usually beat the drum claiming the sky is falling like he does either (no offence @DomainRecap ).

That said, I have no problem from the competition aspect. Just be careful. I'd say that the illiquidity and long ROI are the first issues any new investor needs to understand before going into it too deep.

Agreed, and as for the "sky is falling" attitude, I do tend to look at the bad side of the coin, but it's also saved me multiple times from foolishly following the unwashed masses into the latest scam-fad. Like when NFTs got going, I thought "there is be some quick money to be made before it all implodes... but do I really want to time this too close and possibly get holding the JPG bag?" I said NO and don't regret it.

Like Crazy Tony on Twitter says, "Don't look for reasons to invest, look for reasons NOT to invest."

So I'll stick to my guns on that one, as it's done quite well for me.

@FM

I'm getting my Auction email notifications in French, the headings are all english but the body is French.

I will PM you a copy
The issue has been identified and fixed for your account. If someone else is experiencing this, please get in touch with me directly. A code fix will happen soon, too.

Yeah what's up with this? I checked the whois of a domain name in the who drop and it appeared to be owned by CIRA?
@DomainTrader all of the domains that are being released from previously being blocked by domains registered at the 3rd and 4th level are first registered to a CIRA account and then immediately deleted in order to be processed in TBR. Any of the domains you look up from this list with have both a default CIRA Registrar and an internal holding account. It is likely these 2nd level domains were never registered before (because they were blocked) which is also why you would not see a specific previous registrant.
