I get $10k too, just ask your bank. I finally did a couple years ago and it is nice to have that limit. But I think the $10K is a hard limit set by Interac.

That's because it's regulated with actual laws in place, and you have some level of control and consumer protections in their in case you get surveilled (for pins and codes) and then robbed, you'll only lose $10K at worst.
A lot of these unregulated bank "features" are extremely scary and people are getting robbed for $35K, $50K or even $100K (and thieves can fund transfers through a LOC or loan) in a single transaction. And they never get the money back.
If you're concerned about the risks of having a high limit, I know with scotia's small business line, you can just keep your limit low, but with a phone call you can get it instantly increased up to $10K for the day. I used to do it that way for a long time, just call when I needed the occasional temporary increase.
Scotiabank was a bit annoying when raising the limit. They wouldn’t do it over the phone and made you go through hoops at the bank and kept recommending against it. I still got it done there.
Banks are so amusing in their greed and ineptitude.
Whenever I call CIBC to temporarily increase the limit on my ATM withdrawal or eTransfer, I have to talk with people with why I want to do it, the risks entailed with it, am I being forced to do it, etc.
But when I called them to ask why in hell I have an automatic $75,000 a day in International Money Transfers that I never use, and cannot adjust down or disable entirely, I'm told "That's not a problem, our fraud protection team is the best in the business, so you don't have to worry".
Translation: There are laws around ATM withdrawals and eTransfers, but the rest is the unregulated Wild West and we can do whatever the %$#& we want!
I emailed Grape and no response….this is why CIRA should be getting involved with TBR. These shenanigans should not be left to the registrar. At the very least a courtesy response as to why the domain did not get paid. I am annoyed because I could have paid and the domain would be in my hands. Yet another person made the same bid as me and yet doesn’t pay or gets some preferential treatment on payment terms.
