I don't like FirstNameLastName domains. I prefer just LastName, and I've been owning mine since 2003.
I think FirstName@LastName.com/.ca looks way better. And it also gives my children an ability to have a private email address in the future, if they choose to.

For the past few weeks I see TBR auctions selling domains with strong backlinks for ridiculous amounts. Clearly not all backlinks are created equal and I doubt someone will be dropping 10-15k, or more, on domains with fluffy history.
