I agree that this domain is going to be a definite overpay, as someone already bid over $5000 on NP for it.
Sorry, I am still not too advanced on these abbreviations, but what does NP stand for exactly?

In my mind, if there was at least two $5000 bids with the winning register (assuming they have an auction), the auction would start at $5000, not $2000. Isn't it supposed to work this way?

NamesPro. Last week their top preorder bid (obviously for Commerce) was $5,003.00, but they didn't win it.

But that guy willing to pay $5000+ for the domain is still out there.
