A new client area era is coming to WHC.

I have been Alpha testing this and was not allowed to talk about it. So now that the Beta version is out in the open I can say it's a huge improvement. I found myself going back to the old control panel to get things done on occasion but with the tweaks the last little while I am finding no need to go back.

The new panel reminds me of Worpress with the black side panel and it integrates nicely with the TBR back order section.

Again, I feel like a broken record but WHC is getting a lot of things right in the last little while.

Ps. When I bookmark the beta panel on mobile with a shortcut on the screen it technically works like an app. However it is missing the proper favicon and shows a generic W.

Do the same with MapleDots.ca to see how it should look.

The feature on Android is called add to homescreen.

Actually, I'm curious for those who experienced issues bidding on their ipad minis and mobile devices if this works better in the new client area. Please reach out to me if you had issues so we can test this,

I never thought of that, I just went in and checked...

Yes it works better it is fully displayed on the mobile screen without having to turn sideways or side scrolling.

3 things today...

1. New user panel seems too be disabled

2. I managed to change my whois info unasisted on a test domain (old panel)

3. All whois throws out this error at CIRA

adds: ;ext=1234 at end of phone number (all registered domains)

1) It just reloads the current client area, right? I was able to reproduce this and raised it as a bug.

2) We've deployed a smaller fix to the contact management, but we still, need to take a closer look at this.

3) I'll take a look at this Can you please provide me with an example? Is this when you edit the domain contacts?

1. I can now get onto the new panel - I think they disable it when they are working on it, happened a few times.

2. I was only able to change whois when in old panel and only when doing changes to one contact type.

3. All domains in my account have the phone number extension, I think that is on all WHC hosted domains right now. (obviously wrong)

We've not made any changes to the order form for the new client area yet, please provide me with some details as to what you are experiencing.

I will enable you for the preview, but apparently, the switch might not be working at the moment (see above).

Some new feedback

The new control panel displays a static URL in the address bar so it is impossible to bookmark anything.
I select show all domains, click on one to view and when I hit the back arrow it goes back to displaying only 10 domains.

So frustrating to have to do that again and again as I inspect domains.

Even at the top inside the window there should be navigation of sorts...

whc > control panel > domains > all domains > domain 1

Then you could click back in and be where you left off. The lack of navigation makes the control panel difficult to use to say the least.

PS: the old control panel has none of these issues, it has a full URL in the address bar, I can bookmark sections and it has full navigation within the window.

Exactly why I say that sometimes those old school interfaces are best. Too much javascript, the thing that bugs me the most is not being able to right click a link to open in a new window.

One of the things I love about the new control panel....

I currently have the following extensions at WHC

.ca
.com
.org
.xyz

When I engage my filters it only has a drop down of the extensions I actually have in my account. At other registrars I have endlessness scrolling through .horse and crap before I get to the ones I actually own.

How refreshing, filter by... anfdthe list is x4 extensions and that is it.

The link for Back Order Center does nothing, then when I go to my old bookmark it brings me right back to the nothing page. I have to exit the new control panel and go to the back order center of the old panel to see anything.
